"All the functional ulcer patients can fast, with due observance of food and drink consumption," said Dr. Ari. However, there are “taboo” foods that ulcer sufferers should be noted that fasting brings a positive blessing and not vice versa.

Here are some of intakes of foods to avoid ulcer patients in the month of fasting.

1. Foods that contain lots of gas, including mustard, cabbage, jackfruit, banana, sodas.

2. Foods those are difficult to digest, which would slow gastric emptying among other things, and cheese tart.

3. Foods that stimulate excess stomach acid expenses include coffee, alcohol, white wine, citrus juices, full cream milk.

4. Food that directly damage the gastric wall, such as vinegar, marinated spicy, foods containing pepper.

5. Foods that weaken the esophageal valve include alcohol, chocolate, fried foods.

6. Source of carbohydrates, such as glutinous rice, noodles, rice noodles, sweet cassava, taro, or lunkhead.
